In 2008, North Central Health Services (NCHS) conducted a community health needs assessment (CHNA). The CHNA provided the information NCHS needed to support the community gaps and needs of our region. This assessment also provided an opportunity to improve the coordination of hospital community benefits with other efforts to improve community health. One of the top opportunities identified for our region was mental health care. NCHS saw this opportunity to strengthen the mental health services, which led to River Bend Hospital in 2010. The mission of River Bend Hospital is to ensure individuals have access to quality nonprofit inpatient psychiatric services. Since 2010, NCHS has continued to invest in the Hospital, completing over 8 million dollars in upgrades to the facility.
River Bend Hospital is dedicated to continuous improvement in care, outcomes, treatment, and services. River Bend Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addictions.
