Current road work may impact your travel to River Bend Hospital. Starting May 16, 2022 to Sept. 29, 2023, there will be extensive road construction around the River Bend Hospital corridor. Please review the map and plan your route to the hospital accordingly.
When the intersection of E 500 N closes on May 23, it is recommended you use Catherwood Drive and Soldiers Home Road as detours. Once the third project begins on June 20, only Catherwood Drive will be an accessible route until August 1. The Indiana Department of Transportation announced on 8/22/2022 the State Road 43 ramps will close for more work on the I-65 added travel lanes and bridge construction project. The I-65 southbound and northbound on-ramps are closing on or after Friday, September 9, along with the I-65 northbound exit ramp, which is expected to close on or after Tuesday, September 13. Work will be happening on I-65 from the Wabash River to County Road 725, near Battleground. The southbound on-ramp is scheduled to reopen after late October, weather permitting. Weather permitting, the northbound on/exit ramps are scheduled to reopen after late November.
Surface milling and paving operations will begin on Monday October 2nd from the West Lafayette City Limits to CR 500N.
North River Road will remain closed to through traffic for the next four (4) weeks. Local residences and businesses are warned to expect rough pavement and delays as traffic is flagged around the paving operations.
Starting September 20, 2023, the highway department will permit only through traffic on River Road to the north of River Bend Hospital. From September 25, 2023, River Road south of River Bend Hospital will be closed for an estimated three days. During this period, the hospital can only be accessed from the northern route.
